Anne Baker, Co-Lead
Anne’s long history with the Peace Corps started with her service in Fiji from 1985 to 1987. Following her retirement in 2022 after more than 25 years at National Peace Corps Association – the last 18 years as Vice President – she continues her engagement as a volunteer in both the Peace Corps and refugee/immigrant communities. In addition to her role as Co-lead for Peace Corps Community for Refugees, she is currently the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Museum of the Peace Corps Experience and a board member for Friends of Fiji. She volunteers in resettling refugees and immigrants through Homes Not Borders and as part of a sponsor team for a family of five from Afghanistan through the Community Sponsorship Hub.
Evelyn Ganzglass, Co-Lead
Evelyn serves as Co-Lead of the Peace Corps Community for Refugees and codirects an Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Initiative in Montgomery County, Maryland. She also coordinates the Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Oral History Archive Project. In addition, she served on the National Peace Corps Association Board of Directors and is a member of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Washington, DC. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Somalia from 1966-68. Evelyn retired in 2018 after a 40+-year career in domestic and international workforce development policy and practice, focused on strengthening connections among workforce development, education, economic development, and social service policies and programs.
Christine Madaio DiStasio, Communication Team Lead
Christine has been serving as Communication Team Lead for the past 2 years. Currently, she is a volunteer team member at Medical Missionaries, Manassas, VA, and a Board Member for the Staten Island Ballet in New York. Christine served with the Peace Corps in Lesotho, Southern Africa, from 1976-1978. She is a member of Friends of Lesotho as well as RPCV/W. Christine worked as an Educational Director for special education preschool programs in New York for 30 years and continues her work in supervision, training, and program support as an Independent Consultant in the Northeast.
Matthew O’Leary, Web & Database Developer
Matthew serves as a Web and Database Developer for the Peace Corps Community for Refugees. His involvement with PCC4Refugees began in 2022 through a Web Development Service Learning Project at Fairfield University, where he partnered with PCC4Refugees leadership to design and build a new WordPress website focused on visual engagement, user accessibility, and education. In 2025, Matthew rejoined PCC4Refugees to continue supporting the organization’s website and database needs, leveraging his skills in web development, database management, and team coordination for web projects. Matthew recently graduated with a Master of Science in Software Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Fairfield University. Beyond his work with PCC4Refugees, he is passionate about applying technology to support educational initiatives.
