Just updated – Welcoming Refugees: An Online Guide to Volunteer Opportunities for the Peace Corps Community
Interested in supporting refugees? Visit our newly updated Guide on Welcoming Refugees to help you get started. It describes the policy landscape and explores a wide range of actions individuals and groups of RPCVs can take to welcome refugees and advocate on their behalf. The Guide also provides links to non-profit organization resources from which individuals and groups can draw to help them get started. (Note: We will do our best to keep this ever-evolving information updated in the Guide, but if you see anything amiss, please notify us at info@pcc4refugees.org.)

We’ve reorganized and updated the contents so that it’s easier for you to find the information you need to step up for refugees and other new immigrants. Under Educate, you’ll find a multitude of resources to help you stay informed and explore opportunities for action. Click on Inspire to draw inspiration from what others are doing. The Mobilize section will take you to upcoming informal information sharing sessions and webinars, and the updated Welcoming Refugees guide designed to help you serve and advocate on behalf of refugees.

See you at Peace Corps Connect in Washington, DC – July 19-20, 2025
Our team looks forward to meeting you at the National Peace Corps Association’s Peace Corps Connect 2025 Conference this summer. Attend our session, visit our exhibit table, or just catch us in the hallway. You can identify us by our PCC4Refugees pins!
- Join us on July 19 from 2:00-3:00 pm for the PCC4Refugees’ Stand Up for Refugees session. In line with the conference theme, “Reimagining National Service: Building Bridges at Home and Abroad,” our session will provide a timely update on the status of the US refugee resettlement process and guidance on specific ways individual RPCVs and affiliate groups can help new immigrants resettle in their communities. We’ll also share examples of what others are doing and provide information on resources and support available.
- Visit our exhibit table to tell us what you are doing and to network with others engaged in this crucial work during this difficult time for new immigrants, when much of the formal infrastructure of support is being dismantled. We are pleased to welcome Matt O’Leary to our team as our new Web Developer. Matt joined our team thanks to outreach by one of our long-time members, Peter Deekle. He is a recent graduate from Fairfield University with a degree in Software Engineering. Welcoming Refugees: A Guide to Volunteer Opportunities for the Peace Corps Community
This Guide, developed by the PCC4Refugees team, is to inspire more RPCVs and others to use their unique cross-cultural and language skills to welcome refugees and help them resettle in the United States. The guide provides information on a wide range of welcoming services that individuals and groups of RPCVs can provide for refugees in their communities and along the border.
